Update-a-mundo

It's been a while since this thing was updated, so here's some stuff!

- Gary had a cake connection through school, so Elaine from Sweet Stuff Cakes will be making our cakes. Gary's groom's cake will be in the shape of the Ohio State Stadium (aka The Shoe)!

- We have our flowers picked out...the bridesmaids will be carrying bouquets of daisies and roses. The groomsmen will be wearing light yellow roses on their coats. Randal at Lawrenceville Florist is making our bouquets.

- We have everything set for London and Ireland! Yay!

- We are using pictures of us for the reception table centerpieces. I got this idea from my friend Autumn's wedding.

- We have 195 RSVP's!!

- My bridal luncheon is this Saturday at my grandmother's house. It should be fun!

- I'll be stopping by the clinique counter to be consulted about some "real" makeup (I usually just get whatever I find at CVS) and tips about applying it.

- I found some silver shoes that I like. Mom wants me to wear the white ones to match my dress, but I like the silver ones better. The lady at Macy's said a lot of brides are wearing silver sparkly shoes with their white dresses, plus they fit better and I like them better...so silver it is!

Engagement Pictures

Patrick Douglas of Douglas Photography took our engagement pictures at Stone Mountain. Hop on over to see them if you want!

Rehearsal Dinner

We have booked the upstairs space at Ippolito's in Suwanee for our Rehearsal Dinner. It's one of our favorite places. The only problem is, I have to fit in my wedding dress the next day...

Music!

Now that summer is here, we can devote more time to wedding planning. One thing that has to be planned is music for the ceremony and reception. We have the "during ceremony" music taken care of. Amber's cousin Christy will be singing at the beginning of the ceremony, and friends Andy and Jill will be singing somewhere in the middle of it. We still need to decide on the prelude, seating of the parents, grandparents, etc, and the reception music.

What do you think about reception music? To Electric Slide or not to Electric Slide...that is the question. Same for YMCA, Cha Cha Slide...I'm leaning towards "not," but they do help motivate everyone to get on the dance floor.

Our DJ for the night will be Randy Wyton of Straight Entertainment. He's been great so far.

Ohio Shower

It's been a while (awhile?) since our last post. Since we last posted, we have sent our invitations and had a couple of showers.

Gary's family and friends gave us a shower in Ohio a few weeks ago. We got loads of good stuff...we couldn't even fit it all in the truck on the way back, so his parents will bring the rest of our presents next time they come down.

Here are some pics of that day:

Nancy Powers, Amber, and Cathy (Gary's sister). Nancy and Cathy hosted the shower

Also while were in Ohio, we got our wedding invitations! Everyone seems to love them! All of the pictures we've taken of them so far look blurry...

London, Baby!

Over Spring Break, Gary booked our honeymoon. I'm so excited about England! I've never been to Europe.

We'll be staying at The Claredon for seven nights, then heading to Dublin and staying at The Parliament Hotel for three.
